home to Fort St. George, built in 1644 and now a museum showcasing the city’s roots as a British military garrison
and East India Company trading outpost, when it was called Madras.  It is one of the biggest economic, cultural and

Today morning after breakfast at your hotel, proceed for city sightseeing of Chennai. Visit the Art and Bronze
Gallery (Closed on Fridays & Public holidays). Drive through the flowers and fruit market, High court, Fort
museum, Marina Beach & Santhome Cathedral. Evening is free. Overnight in Chennai.

After breakfast, check out and drive to Mahabalipuram. On arrival check-in to hotel. Located in the Kancheepuram
district, Mahabalipuram is one of the oldest cities in India and is known for its various stone carved monuments
and ancient temples. It was a port town during the 1st Century to 140 AD and was ruled by the ancient Pallava
dynasty. The Pallava Kings Mahendravarman I and Narsimhavarman I have been attributed with the commissioning
of most of the monuments back in the 7th and 8th century AD. The groups of monuments located here have also
been deemed as a UNESCO world heritage site. Later visit Thirukadalmallai, Shore Temple, and Pancha Pandava
Rathas. Overnight in Mahabalipuram.

Drive to Pondicherry, after breakfast. On arrival, check-in to your hotel. Puducherry (or Pondicherry), a French
colonial settlement in India until 1954, is now a Union Territory. The town offers a unique experience with its mix
of modern heritage and spiritual culture. Its French legacy is preserved in its French Quarter, with tree-lined
streets, mustard-colored colonial villas and chic boutiques. With a predominantly historical background,
Pondicherry takes one centuries back in time. Later visit Aurobindo Ashram & French market. Overnight in
Pondicherry.

Today after breakfast, drive to Tanjavur (or Tanjore). The royal city of the Cholas, Nayaks and the Mahrattas
Thanjavur has a rich and varied heritage and is renowned for the same across the globe. The center of
knowledge and culture reached its zenith between the 10th and 14th centuries under the reign of the
Cholas. Though the magic Thanjavur continues un-faded over the period of time. 
Even today in the era of technology Thanjavur remains a center for classical arts and music. On arrival,
check-in to your hotel. Later visit Brihadeeshwara temple capped by a monolithic cupola made of a single granite
block weighting 80 tons and Art gallery. Overnight in Tanjavur.

Drive to Madurai enroute visiting Trichy for city sightseeing. The city of Trichy is one of the oldest places to have
been inhabited in Tamil Nadu. It has a rich cultural heritage and has seen the rise and fall of several empires. This
has resulted in presenting Trichy with some of the most splendid historical religious places and fortresses. On
arrival in Madurai, check-in hotel. Overnight in Madurai.

Madurai is an energetic, ancient city on the Vaigai River. Its skyline is dominated by the 14 colorful gopurams
(gateway towers) of Meenakshi Amman Temple. Covered in bright carvings of Hindu gods, the Dravidian-style
temple is a major pilgrimage site. Visit Tirumala Nayak Palace and Meenakshi temple with its towering gopurams.
Later transfer to airport for your onward flight.
